What Type of Makeup is for You?

People ask me all the time what type of makeup they should buy, such as liquid, powder, mineral, cream ect. There are SO many options to choose from that it can be over whelming at times and we might not ever find the right kind of makeup for us. I have broken some of these makeup types down for you so you can have a better idea on what makeup is for you.

Liquid Base Foundation
This is probably the most common makeup type found in any store you walk into. It can be the easiest and most simple or the down right worst investment you make. I push my new makeup interests towards liquid foundation because you can usually get a lighter coverage and you don't have to add a lot to it to get a simple look. BB or CC Creams are amazing makeup starters because they just add a natural glow to the face without the affect of makeup being added. There are some liquids that are a little thicker and heavier for long wear so always check the label, and a little goes a long ways! Companies make a lot of money off of liquid makeup because people dont understand application and go through bottles super fast. So liquid makeup is a great start for all those learning to use makeup but it is also a great base for those who do heavy coverage because you can layer it and even out the skin. I would not recommend this to people who have oily skin because it can clog pores and you might find yourself with more breakouts, but keep reading because I do have something for you guys!

Powder Base Foundation/Makeup
Now powder is one of the most important parts of the makeup routine but I wouldnt prefer to use it by itself. Personally I dont like the look of just powder on my face, even if it is tinted, its just not a full coverage. I would highly recommend this to girls who dont have a lot of time to do makeup and need a quick on the go item. This powder is also perfect to apply after liquid foundation to soften that oily shinny look to your face. If you are applying powder after foundation use a mineral veil; one that is transluecent because it is holding the makeup in place and isnt putting another color on top. If your liquid foundation is too light I would recommend powder that is just a shade darker and that will even out the tones on your face. Powder creates more matte looks and can also create heavy coverage if used correctly. I would recommend this for everyone to finish their makeup look with.

Cream Base Makeup
This makeup use to scare me at the thought of it. How am I supposed to get a clean good coverage by putting streaks or thicker creams on my face??? Well I use it every day now so once I got a closer look I couldnt keep my hands off of it. Cream makeup is definitely used for heavy coverage or for a more advanced makeup look. You can do that crazy contour face with all those cream colors and blend it all in to perfection, completely change someones face if you would like. Creams are a little difficult to work with at first so I wouldnt recommend this for starters and when you do get it, play with it before you go into public. I love cream concealers, contour pallets, and foundations, but I do not prefer cream eye shadows. I have oily skin and my eyes dont hold on the color very well. I also just dont prefer the coverage on the eye shadows. There are also those roll on blushes, and bronzer creams that I am just tampering with because it can be a difficult process. So creams are amazing for heavy coverage but can be hard to work with. Once you have messed with makeup for a bit then I would recommend this and make sure to wash your face when your done! This is thicker makeup and will clog pores up.

Mineral Base
Ok all my oily face friends I have a makeup type for you! Now you can use any of the other makeup types Ive mentioned, I do and I love it, I just make sure to really watch my skins reaction to things. Mineral Based Makeup is in the higher end of the makeup brands because it is created using rocks, and minerals from the earth. This allows it to be more gentle on the skin and allows your skin to breath while wearing it. Bare Minerals is one of those lines and there are so many others. The application is usually lighter and creates a nice coverage look. This is great because oily skin wont come off as oily and your makeup wont run nearly as fast. I have only used this a few times because I have so much makeup and love testing new ones but I would definitely recommend everyone to tamper with this at some point.

Sorry this is a longer blog post but it is extremely helpful. Learn and just play with makeup, it really is the best way to know what is for you and what isn't. If you have anything particular you want me to review or write about comment or email me at makeupforu17@gmail.com thanks guys!
