There are a lot of us that choose to shave over wax because we fear the pain, or just find it simpler to shave. It can also go the other way around, but do we know the pros and cons of both? You might find waxing more time saving then you would expect.
Lets start with the basics of shaving. Between 10-12 we all received our first razors, we found the concept simple and easy and it became our comfort zone very quickly. As we grow up we seem to find the need to shave every other day rather then once a week. Why is this? While shaving is quick and can be painless it does not completely get rid of the hair. It simply cuts off the top of the hair in the hair follicle, leaving it open to grow faster and it can even come back darker. Another thing caused by shaving is ingrown hairs, these as we all know are killers. One way to prevent ingrown hairs on your legs is taking toner for your face and wiping it on your legs after you shower and moisturize. Yes shaving is simple and is quick at the last minute but tends to be a constant task and keeps you very busy in the summer time. So how is waxing a good alternative?
If we even hear the word wax we instantly connect it to pain. (I am one of those people), but there are actually really good benefits that come with a little pain. When you wax you pull the entire hair out of the follicle, causing the hair to take much longer to grow back. Yes it can also leave ingrown hairs but toner helps the same way. When you wax you get a smoother, softer affect. The best benefit, you usually only have to do it once every 3-4 weeks! Yes waxing can be painful but the longer affects can be more beneficial. The downside to waxing is it can be more irritating to your skin depending on your skin type, waxing pulls the skin especially on the face, (I would recommend threading the eye brows rather then waxing.)
So next time you reach for that for razor the third time that week remember, a little pain goes a long way for waxing.
